Information You Submit
Queries Sent to Search Providers
A name, location, or other term entered in a search box is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Sherburne County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider’s policy governs its handling of the query.
Messages Sent to Us
If you send an email or contact-form message, we keep the information needed to read and answer it. We do not share that correspondence outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Information Collected Automatically
Routine technical records may be created when a page loads. They can include:
- Internet Protocol address;
- browser name and version;
- device type and operating system;
- pages viewed and time spent on them;
- the referring site, when available; and
- request dates and timestamps.
Cookies and Similar Tools
Cookies help measure how visitors use the site and support site functions. Browser controls can block or delete cookies, though some features may then work differently.
How Information Is Used
Collected data supports a limited set of operating purposes:
- keeping pages available and responsive;
- sending a search request to the selected partner;
- understanding which Sherburne County resources are useful;
- detecting and correcting technical problems; and
- displaying advertising that may reflect user interests.
Websites Beyond Our Control
Links lead to Sheriff and corrections pages, release-record portals, Minnesota government services, and third-party search tools. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination’s privacy terms govern its collection and use of data.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and select targeted ads. That cross-site activity occurs under the provider’s controls, not as a Sherburne County Released Inmates record.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may be handled by:
- search partners that process submitted queries;
- analytics vendors that measure site use;
- advertising networks that serve or measure ads; and
- law-enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid legal order.
Reasonable Security Measures
We use standard safeguards suited to the service and the data involved. No website, network, storage system, or transmission method is fully secure, so we cannot promise that a breach will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This service is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor submitted information, a parent or guardian may use the Contacts page to request deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and verification, a person may:
- ask for a copy of personal information we hold;
- request correction of inaccurate information;
- ask that personal information be erased; and
- object to or opt out of certain processing.
Changes to This Notice
We may revise this privacy notice as the site, service providers, or legal requirements change. A revision takes effect when posted here with an updated effective date.
